   Matthew Merian (Matthäus Merian) was the father of the great naturalist and scientific illustrator of insects Maria Sibylla Merian

   I am so excited to see this on my dash. I’ve recently been reading up on Maria Merian and her adventures in the New World documenting all the new types of plants and insects she found. What a life she had!
